Trip Overview

Highlights

  • Mt. Annapurna (8091m), the 10th highest mountain in the world.
  • Home of several 7000m plus peaks.
  • Traditional villages with warm smiling locals
  • 12 days of moderate adventure with a full support crew

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek combining the best of Nepal from high mountains to low lands. Physically placed in central Nepal and is the proud home of several 7000m plus peaks. This region is in a league of its own & possesses its own unique form of nature that’s exceptional. The Annapurna Base Camp was first explored by the British explorer Col. James O.M. ‘Jimmy’ Roberts in the year 1956 and was shown to the world as the ‘Sanctuary of Gods’. And so the Sanctuary was christened as “Annapurna Sanctuary” since then.

The postcard landscapes and welcoming local folk have fascinated trekkers to the region for many years, and hiking its well-cut lush green trails is a truly Himalayan characteristic of epic proportions, the venture can be done camping or tea-house style, and both have their merits. The trail is not difficult in a way that would tire your limbs. You’d enjoy the trip because you will be trampling through numerous pretty villages along the way.

We start our journey from Pokhara and the first section goes through verdant green hill country typical of the heartlands of mountain rural Nepal. Petite thatched roofed villages, set among well cut out terraced fields, create quaint portraits in the lovely backdrop of the majestic snowy ranges of Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri including the most regal peak of all the Himalayan range, Machapuchare (Fish Tail), a venerated peak.

Based in teahouses for most of the trip, it’s also a wonderful experience to spend time in the many villages lived in by local folks from a vast array of Nepal’s different communities. After the Annapurna base camp trek, we retrace our footsteps down the trail to Himalaya hotel, Jhinu Dada and back to Kathmandu to conclude our journey in the comforts of our hotel.

Highland Expeditions went above and beyond to ensure my trip was enjoyable and memorable. On the trek, everything was taken care of for me. Can’t recommend them enough.

Dr. Ananthan E

Went to the Annapurna Base Camp on the 20th till 30th Oct, 2018, 10 days trek with Highland Expeditions. Passang and his team of guides (Pemba, Shyam and cheerful porters) made it a truly wonderful and memorable trip. I already miss waterfalls, snow, rivers, bridges, mountains and the hospitable gurung people. Passang and his team made safety a priority while being cheerful company. Food was good and aahhh that ginger lemon honey drink throughout.

Highland Expeditions – Best Company Ever!!

Thank you
