Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrival in Kathmandu [1,350m/4,430ft]
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. Upon completing the visa formalities and collecting your luggage at the airport, kindly proceed to the exit of the arrival hall. Your trip leader will await you just outside the arrival hall and will escort you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Please look out for a placard of Highland Expeditions at the exit of arrival hall. Welcome drinks will be served and after you’ve refreshed, your trek leader will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening. Get familiar with your surroundings by taking a walk down the street
Day 02 - Exploration of Kathmandu and trek preparation [1,350m/4,455ft]
After an early breakfast, we set out on a guided tour to the primary historical spots in Kathmandu. We will tour symbolic monuments, temples, monasteries, palaces and UNESCO World Heritage Sites that include: Boudhanath, and the temples of Pashupatinath. As we stroll along the exotic locales of Kathmandu, more diversified cultural settings in the valley welcome us with warm hospitality. At Boudhanath, one of the biggest stupas in Asia, we get deep insights into Buddhism. This may invoke your spiritual senses. There will be a brief orientation followed by trek preparation during late afternoon at the hotel lobby.
Day 03 - Fly to Bhadrapur 91m/300ft and drive to Illam [1,667m/5,468ft]
Day 04 - Drive to Taplejung and trek to Mitlung [921m/3,021ft]
Day 05 - Trek to Chiruwa [1,270m/4,166ft]
Day 06 - Trek to Sekathum [1,640m/5,379ft]
Day 07 - Trek to Amjilasa [2,500m/8,200ft]
Day 08 - Trek to Gyabla [2,700m/9,184ft]
Day 09 - Trek to Gunsa [3,472m/11,388ft]
Day 10 - Acclimatization and rest day [3,472m/11,388ft]
Day 11 - Trek to Kambachen [4,130m/13,546ft]
Day 12 - Trek to Lonak [4,780m/15,678ft]
Day 13 - Hike to Pangpema, Kanchenjunga north base camp [5,143m/16,870ft]
Day 14 - Trek to Gunsa [3,427m/11,241ft]
Day 15 - Trek to Sele La [4,480m/14,694ft]
Day 16 - Trek to Tseram [3,870m/12,694ft] via Mirgin La (4480m)
Day 17 - Trek to Ramche [4,580m15,023ft]
Day 18 - Hike to Oktang, Kanchenjunga south base camp (4,730m/15,516ft)
Day 19 - Trek to Tortong [2,995m/9,824ft]
Day 20 - Trek to Yamphudin [2,080m/6,825ft]
Day 21 - Trek to Mamangkhe [1,786m/5,858ft]
Day 22 - Trek to Kade Bhanjyang [2,170m/7,118ft]
Day 23 - Trek to Lali Kharka [2,256m/7,400ft]
Day 24 - Trek to Suketar [2,420m7,940ft]
Day 25 - Drive to Bhadrapur and fly back to Kathmandu [1,350m/4,445ft]
This is the last day of trek. We will leave Mitlung and walk past dispersed villages and forest area to Suketar.
Day 26 - In Kathmandu
Free and easy day to spend, perhaps doing shopping or rest at the hotel’s beautiful court-yard. At eventide, we will relish a farewell dinner to celebrate your successful completion of our trek.
Day 27 - Trip Concludes
Thank you for joining us on this trek and it has been a pleasure getting to know you during this time. You will be assisted in your last-minute preparation. Our representative will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled flight. We hope this venture has enriched your experience with happy memories.
