Trip Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Arrive Kathmandu [1,350m/4,430ft]

    Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. Upon completing the visa formalities and collecting your luggages in the airport, kindly proceed to the exit of the arrival hall. Your trip leader will await you just outside the arrival hall and will escort you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Please look out for a placard of Highland Expeditions at the exit of arrival hall. Welcome drinks will be served and after you’ve refreshed, your trek leader will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening.   • Day 02 - Exploration of Kathmandu and trek preparation [1,350m/4,430ft]

    Today we explore Kathmandu on an organized sightseeing tour. This will include a visit to the Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world. We also visit Pashupatinath, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River and home to the most famous Hindu temple in the country. Here we will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. Your early afternoon will be free to relax in the hotel garden or visit Thamel for some curious shopping. You will be given your trek departure orientation in the afternoon by our senior guide.

  • Day 03 - Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani [2,140m/7,021ft]

    Sundarijal is a suburban area that is located 15 km far from Kathmandu. It takes 35-40 minutes to reach Sundarijal from Kathmandu. Watershed in Sundarijal supplies water to Kathmandu citizens. Moving through the stone steps, we will reach the entry point for Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. We will walk through the pristine forest area of rhododendron, pine and spruce to the Tamang village of Mulkharka. Moving further deep into the forest, we will reach Borlang Bhanjyang. Lowering down from the Bhanjyang, we will reach Chisapani. Enjoy the views of Langtang and Gaurishankar mountain range.

  • Day 04 - Trek to Nagarkot [2,195m/7,202ft]

    Leave Chisapani early in the morning and follow the lowering path that progresses through rhododendron and oak forest. We will pass through few dispersed settlements to Nagarkot. The path is scenic that allows great opportunity to experience rustic life. We will traverse the forest area to reach Nagarkot View Tower. The view tower allows panoramic views of Mountain Range that stretches from Annapurna in west to Everest in the east including Langtang Mountain, Gaurishankar Mountain, Manaslu Mountain and many more. We will lower down to the hotel in Nagarkot for overnight stay.

  • Day 05 - Trek to Dhulikhel [1,460m/4,791ft]

    We will wake up at dawn and climb up to the view tower in Nagarkot and there we will experience the famous sunrise view from Nagarkot. We will return to the hotel for breakfast before beginning the trek to Dhulikhel. Nagarkot to Dhulikhel trek follows pleasant countryside route. We will face the moderate challenges of three passes of Rohini Bhanjang, Kashi Bhanjang and Rabi Bhanjang. The path meanders upward and downward till we reach Dhulikhel where we will stay in a resort.

  • Day 06 - Drive back to Kathmandu [1,350m/4,430ft]

    Dhulikhel is the medieval Newari town. Chandeswori Temple and Dhaneswor Temple are two major religious sites in Dhulikhel. We will visit the old Dhulikhel town in the morning. After lunch, we will return back to Kathmandu. Free afternoon and you are on your own
    At eventide, we will relish a farewell dinner to celebrate your successful completion of the ‘Kathmandu Valley Trek.’ While enjoying our supper, we will also be entertained to a scintillating cultural dance performed by the local belles
