Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrival in Lhasa [3,650m/12,000ft]
Once you land at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will then take you to the hotel in a private vehicle. You will be introduced to other tour members and given brief explanation of itinerary. Relax for the rest of the day. You can take casual stroll around the hotel.
Day 2 - Full day sightseeing of Lhasa [3,650m/12,000ft]
Two days will be dedicated for Lhasa Tour. Lhasa is the spiritual centre of Tibet. We will visit Norbulinka Palace early in the morning. The colossal Palace sparkles as jewel in Lhasa. Pretty garden of wild flowers adorns the premise. Norbulinka served as the summer palace for seventh to fourteenth Dalai Lama, the most revered spiritual priest of Tibet. Our next stop will be at Sera Monastery. You will immediately feel the spiritual sensation awaking inside you once you step inside this Monastery. Soothe your ears with the rhythmic humming of words from scripture by the monks. Take close observation of statues, scriptures and murals. Circumambulate around the sacred Jokhang Temple along with other devotees through the pilgrimage circuit around old street. Take the tour of Barkhor Bazaar before returning to hotel in Lhasa.
Day 03 - Full day sightseeing of Lhasa [3,650m/12,000ft]
Early in the morning after breakfast, we will start the second day of Lhasa Tour by visiting Potala Palace which is the residence of Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetans. Explore its halls and chapels before heading towards Dreprung Monastery. This is the largest Monastery in Tibet which was established in 1416. This is also the richest monastery in Tibet. From Dreprung Monastery, we will return to hotel
Day 04 - Drive to Gyantse [4,000m/13,123ft] via Yamdrok Lake [4,500m/14,764ft]
Gyantse is located 261km far from Lhasa. Gyantse is the pretty tiny town that exists near to the Friendship Highway. The route to Gyantse from Lhasa stretches through Himalayan Passes. We will stop by the holy turquoise blue lake of Yamdrok Yumtso.
Day 05 - Drive to Shigatse [3,800m/12,467ft]
Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet which exists 90km far from Lhasa. We will visit Gyantse Monastery in the morning before continuing our journey to Shigatse. We will stay overnight in Shigatse.
Day 06 - Drive to Rongbuk [4,800m/15,749ft]
Early in the morning, we will visit Tashilumpo Monastery which is located at the base of Drolmari Mountain. This Monastery was established by Gendun Drukpa in 1477. We will observe the world’s largest brass statue of Buddha in Tashilumpo Monastery and drive to Shegar which exists 244 km far from the Monastery. From Shegar, we will drive for about 4hrs to reach Rongbuk where we will visit the world’s highest Rongbuk Monastery.
Day 07 - Excursion to EBC [5,200m/17,060ft] and drive back to Lhasa
In Tibet lies the North Base Camp of Everest. We can reach North Everest Base Camp from Rongbuk Monastery in two hours. We will enjoy the views of Rongbuk Glacier and then return to Lhasa for overnight stay.
Day 08 - Departure
This day marks the end of Tibet Tour with EBC. You can either choose for extended trip or depart for your onward destination.
