Highland Expeditions is a local company with exceptional service. From the moment I arrived in Kathmandu, all aspects of the trip were handled perfectly of and I had no concerns or issues. Pasang was an excellent guide, providing information and recommendations to stay healthy. He paced us well, and I felt well cared for all day every day. I did the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, which i felt was well worth the added expenses. The helicopter trip at the end of the hike provided exceptional views and was another highlight of the trip. I highly recommend this guide service.

An amazing experience of a lifetime with an amazing group of people. We were a very disparate group, in terms of age and trekking experiences and aspirations, but we seemed to interact really well together. As the oldest and slowest member of the group, I was grateful for the patience, support, and encouragement of the HE staff and my fellow trekkers. My companions were extraordinarily supportive, and I’m sure my trip would not have been enjoyable and rewarding with a bigger or less supportive group. SLEEP AT EVEREST BASE CAMP CUSTOM TRIP
Kudos to Highland Expeditions for making my dream come true. I was with the same company last year for my EBC trek, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to reach Base Camp for various reasons. This time, Passang Tsering, the boss, meticulously designed my trip to allow plenty of time for rest and acclimatization.
I was in a group of three, and Passang provided us with the best crew: our lead guide, Ang Rita Sherpa; our assistant guide, Passang Kami Sherpa; and our two porters, Jetha Rai and Sandeep Shrestha. The whole team was exceptional. Everything went smoothly—every detail was planned and taken care of, so we only had to focus on ourselves and enjoy the journey.
Thank you also to Dawa for picking us up at the airport, making sure we arrived safely, and constantly checking if we needed anything.

Highland Expeditions delivered an outstanding Everest trek experience from start to finish. The owner, Passang, is incredibly organised and responsive, tailoring the itinerary to suit us perfectly — including the unforgettable experience of sleeping at Base Camp and arranging seamless helicopter transfers off the mountain. Our guide was first class: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to our safety and enjoyment at every step. Throughout the trek, it was clear we were being looked after to a higher standard than many other groups we encountered. Recently myself and two friends were guided by Highland Expeditions to the Upper Mustang region of Nepal. From our initial enquiry, throughout our 14 day journey and until the time we left Nepal to return home, we recieved nothing but professional, personalised and generous care from our host Passan, and most of all from our brilliant guide, Samde and our driver, Manos.
Such an amazing experience to travel through this unique area of breathtaking scenery and meet with locals face to face whilst seeing very few other foreigners. Much was thanks to Samde’s own local knowledge of this remote and beautiful region with its many temples, monastries, nomadic herders, sky caves, tea houses and wildlife.
A highly recomended trip with a local guiding company whom i would definitely travel with again.

EBC was a great experience. It was nice all the logistics once we got in country were taken care of and Highland was always there on time whenever they said they would be there with a ride to and from airports, tours, etc. The trek up was great but down was long days. Overall would recommend.
