Trip Overview

Highlights

  • Short introduction tour of Bhutan
  • Witness the culture and history of Bhutan
  • Hike up to Tiger’s nest monastery
  • Perfect escape from the tedious and routine life.

Bhutan Highlight Tour is a five day journey through Bhutan that is designed to give you a genuine and well balanced experience of the country’s culture, landscapes, and spiritual life. Traveling through Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro, you explore Bhutan’s most important valleys while staying at a relaxed pace that allows time to connect with the people, traditions, and sacred places that define the kingdom.

From the moment you arrive, the tone of the trip is set with visits to living places of devotion such as the Memorial Chorten and the giant Buddha Dordenma overlooking Thimphu. These are not just landmarks but daily gathering places for Bhutanese people, giving you a first look into how deeply Buddhism shapes everyday life. As you continue into the fertile Punakha Valley, you see how geography and faith come together, from the peaceful farming villages around Chimi Lhakhang to the majestic Punakha Dzong standing between two rivers as the former capital and spiritual heart of the country

The journey then moves west to Paro Valley, home to some of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred sites. Crossing an ancient iron chain bridge to reach Tamchog Lhakhang and visiting the seventh-century Kyichu Lhakhang connects you directly to the early history of Buddhism in Bhutan. These are not museum pieces but active temples where monks and pilgrims still come to pray, keeping centuries-old traditions alive.

The highlight of the trip is the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff above the Paro Valley. This sacred place is where Guru Rinpoche is believed to have meditated in the eighth century, making it one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Himalaya. The hike is both a physical and spiritual journey, rewarded with unforgettable views and a powerful sense of peace at the monastery.

By the time you depart from Paro, you leave with more than memories of beautiful scenery. You gain a deeper understanding of how Bhutan has preserved its culture, spirituality, and way of life in a modern world. This is a journey that brings you close to the true heart of Bhutan.
