Everest base camp heli trek

Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is a perfect trip for people having limited time and yet want to embark on a journey to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain. Our Everest base camp heli trek combines the world’s famous trek with a thrilling helicopter ride across the Himalayas to Kathmandu.

Rendezvous in Kathmandu and the next day our journey starts early morning with a spectacular mountain flight to Lukla Airport, a gateway to Everest and many other mountains. From here, our trek to Everest base camp begins and we slowly begin to gain altitude. Following the Dudh Kosi river, we make our way through small colourful villages festooned with Buddhist prayer flags, stupas and mani stones to Namche bazar and along with the way several high suspension bridges offer great views of the mountain. We spend 2 nights in Namche Bazar for better acclimatization and exploration. Afterwards, we head up to Tengboche monastery, the largest monastery in Everest Region. Witness the Sherpa culture and tradition at Tengboche before we head to Dingboche for our second acclimatization to Chukung Ri. After our body well adapts with 5000m elevation our trek continues to Lobuche and to Everest Base Camp via Gorekshep. Following day, early in the morning, we hike up to Kalapathar to catch the panoramic views of Everest and many other mountains before we descend to Pheriche. Our last night in mountains at Pheriche with all the crew before we aboard a chartered helicopter back to Kathmandu.

Our Everest Base Camp Heli Trek itinerary has been devised keeping every aspect in mind allowing proper acclimatization, exploration and of course the best campsites.  Our itinerary includes two acclimatization days at Namche and at Dingboche before reaching Everest Base Camp giving us a maximum chance for the safety and success of the trip.

What makes Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek different?

Instead of walking all the way down to Lukla to catch a flight back to Kathmandu, we will return to Pheriche from where we will board a chartered helicopter back to Kathmandu. Get the best alternative to the normal Everest Base Camp Trek. Being short trek in Everest, this package is for those who have a very limited time for exploration. Since you will be flying to Kathmandu from Pheriche of Everest via helicopter, you can avoid the same returning trail back to Lukla and also you will be saved from the peril of frequent flight cancellation in Lukla due to unpredictable weather. Highland Expeditions make complete arrangement of logistics for the comfortable trek.
