A recommended exploration of Kathmandu would be UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Boudhanath Stupa & Pasupatinath. With the rising sun comes a brand new day. On day two, after an early morning breakfast, you drive to Jagat Village, which is a part of the Annapurna Conservation Area. After an 8-9 hour jeep ride and 213 kilometers away from Kathmandu, you reach Jagat village, which is a common stop for trekkers in the Annapurna Region. The place is very beautiful, with the Marsyangdi River, green forests, and fields on the hills. You get a chance to spend a memorable evening exploring rural culture & lifestyle.

Experience Trekking Through Villages and Forests from Dharapani to Chame

The actual journey starts from day three, where you trek to Dharapani Village, popular for its stunning mountain view and traditional Nepalese Architecture. You need to cross the river at several points and pass through the valley and small villages to arrive at Dharapani. Since it is the first walk after the start of your journey, you may feel a bit tired, but the view makes all the effort worth it. Leaving Dharapani, you will head west through the rugged trail to arrive at the Marsyangdi River on day four. You’ll walk through forests and villages, seeing amazing views of Annapurna II (7937m) and Annapurna IV (7,525 m), until you reach Chame, the main town. Along the way, you’ll follow old trade routes and enjoy beautiful mountain views. A good rest after a trek will help rejuvenate the energy to start afresh the next day. 

 Shortcut Option: If you’re opt for the 13 days Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek instead of 15 days Annapurna Circuit Trek, you’ll skip the trek on Days 3 and 4. Instead, you’ll take a direct flight to Chame and start your hike from there.

Exploring Tibetan Villages from Pisang to Manang

You move ahead in your journey, leaving Chame behind as you trek through apple orchards and pass the village of Bhratang, an old Tibetan refugee village, on day five. Along the way, you cross a suspension bridge and catch your first stunning view of the Paungda Danda rock wall. Finally, you reach Pisang, where you’ll relax and visit the local gompa, a peaceful Buddhist temple filled with colorful prayer flags and sacred statues. On day six, you’ll climb from Pisang through Ghyaru and Ngawal to reach Manang, enjoying breathtaking views of the Annapurna mountains. In Braga, a village with strong Tibetan influences, you’ll explore a large gompa housing ancient Tibetan paintings before continuing on to Manang. Finally, you’ll reach Manang, a peaceful town with prayer walls and stone monuments that are said to protect it from evil spirits.

Acclimatizing in Manang and Trekking to Yak Kharka

Today, on day seven, you take a well-deserved break in Manang to let your body adjust to the high altitude. It’s a day to rest, explore the village, and enjoy the breathtaking mountain views around you. Staying at a cozy teahouse at 3,350 meters, you’re preparing for the adventure ahead. After a warm morning tea, you set off from Manang on day 8, following a narrow path to Tengi village, located above Manang. The trail gently moves upward as you head northwest up the Jarsang River valley. Continuing north, you pass through a trail lined with juniper trees(commonly called dhupi in Nepali), reaching Gunsang at 3,930 meters. Walking through open grasslands, you enjoy stunning views of Gangapurna and Annapurna III. Finally, you come down to Yak Kharka, where you’ll rest for the night, ready for the next day’s journey.

Jomsom Trek/Drive and Flying to Pokhara

On day eleven, you finish our trek by heading to Jomsom. For the Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek, instead of trekking, you’ll drive there for a faster and more comfortable ride. Jomsom is a lively village with an airport and beautiful mountain views. Once there, you can relax and celebrate finishing the trek with the team. After breakfast on day twelve, you take a short and exciting 15-minute flight to Pokhara, flying between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. On day thirteen, you return to Kathmandu. The journey takes around 7 hours by bus along the scenic Prithvi Highway.
