Nepal, despite its tiny size, is home to one-third of the 2400km stretch of the Himalayans. Including Everest, Nepal boasts of 8 eight-thousanders – amongst the world’s 14 peaks above the elevation of 8,000m. While the total number of peaks in Nepal is a subject of confusion, it boasts dozens of peaks above 7,000m and 6,000m and innumerable smaller peaks. The trails here alone go higher than the highest peak in Europe. And that’s why Nepal welcomes tens of thousands of trekkers every year.
Challenging Trek with Great Guides and Local Flavor
Challenging Trek with Great Guides and Local Flavor
We had the pleasure of joining Highland Expeditions for the HeliTrek EBC trip in November 2022. The trek to base camp was a great physical and mental challenge but was made enjoyable and forever memorable due to the smooth leadership of our guides and coordinators. The local knowledge they had to share was incredible and we received more than an incredible hike, we also had a brief immersion into the wonderful Nepalese culture.
Many thanks to Passang, Aakash, Mingma and our other support crew!

Amazing – First Class
We started email with Passang Sherpa. He was very patient and thorough helping us decide our best options for a trek. Upon arriving he met us at the airport and someone associated with Highland Expeditions never left our sides. Everything was first class. The accommodation we a little rustic for w western, the service was all on point. They adjusted our speed based on our abilities and always asked if we need assistance. All the way until the end, the even dropped us off at the KTM Airport upon leaving and sent us a follow up email. Our guide, Kunga , was very warm and friendly – I guess the Nepal way. I would say they treated us like FAMILY – I just wish my family treated me so well.
