Latest Nepal Arrival Protocols

Nepal arrival protocols

The Government of Nepal has revoked all the previous arrival and departure protocols for tourists visiting Nepal. With this new protocol, Nepal has eased the entry protocols by removing all pre-arrival testing requirements.

Effective March 11, 2022, a new arrival protocol is introduced, on which fully vaccinated travellers will be allowed to visit Nepal without having to do any pre-arrival COVID testing.

“Fully vaccinated international travellers can enter the country by just showing that they have been vaccinated,” said an official of the Department of Immigration.

Travellers who have not been vaccinated or have received only one jab need to produce a negative COVID-19 test (RT-PCR, True NAAT, Gene Xpert) report not older than 72 hours from the start of the journey.

But incoming visitors will still need to fill up the online form at the CCMC Nepal Website and submit a printed copy of it at the airport. The form is used for contact tracing should there be any need.

This new protocol supersedes all previous rules, including the quarantine requirement.

We recommend you check with your airlines, transit country etc if they require pre-arrival COVID-19 testing.

On a cold morning, before starting the day’s walk, you might feel like wearing a bit too much, but after only a few minutes of walking, you will be soaked in sweat. So, do not overlayer. Tolerate the cold for a few minutes, and it will be fine.
